I am an account manager working in The Change Organisation – I sell IT hardware on a daily basis and manage new and existing relationships with my customers and prospective customers.

I am extremely driven and proud, it motivates me to succeed and that is why I will do very well at The Change. I am an IT enthusiast and have been building my own machines from a very early age, I have always envisaged myself earning a living working with IT and now I have the chance to fulfil that ambition.

Ce que vous se lève le matin ?

My two pet kittens who treat the headboard as a high wire exercise. Invariably cat ends up on my forehead purring and suffocating me. Oh and the neighbours prize cockerel.

My father, who gave me a kick up the backside after I came out of university with no career prospects (music degree!). I owe a lot to myself, I found myself in a state where I had a dead end job and no prospects and I had to take a huge leap of faith to move down to Canterbury to be with my girlfriend (now fiancé) and try and find work here. I worked tirelessly and eventually was head hunted to come and work for The Change.

What is the best or worst business advice you have received?

Best – a fair deal is best for both parties, always work with your customer/supplier on the basis that every deal should be a 50/50 split or aim toward it at least. Anyone who settles with you for less will always be unhappy with the situation (they may not even show it) and then it can suddenly unravel on you one day.

Worst – I wouldn’t say ive ever been given terrible business advice but I have been employed before in an organisation which valued profit over everything else. It was so toxically ingrained into the sales and directorial staff that they lost sight of their customers’ real needs.

What advice would you give to someone starting out today in IT?

If you can spare the time, take a year out of your life and get up to speed on the basics and also where technology is going today and likely to go in the future. Learn the jargon and the “in-jokes”, learn the functionality of the systems you will be selling. It will stand you in good stead when you make that first call to a reseller who asks you if you have any HP ML350P Gen8 v2 in stock at below disty price new retail etc. To anyone not in the know it’s a completely different language.

Angry Birds, Chess and Google Books

I am a yellow belt in International TaeKwo-Do and a drum and bass DJ, with several releases on iTunes.

I would like to build a vast fortune and leave it for my offspring to spend. I wouldn’t really care if they were spending it wisely, life is for living and what’s the point of having money if you can’t spend it. I would like to think that the people that come after can enjoy what I have worked hard to provide for.

On a quirky note, I would like to write a successful series of sci fi or historical fiction novels.

For sheer ignorance removing illumination – Space 2001

300. There are others but it’s a classic amongst my group of university friends.

Quelles seraient vos MP3s d’île de désert ?

The entire back catalogue of Hospital Records and Feeder.

Quelle tentation pas résister ?

Ice Cream and Belgian Beer (Delirium Tremens)

I first had a Peugeot 206 1.4 – it was basically a go kart with a roof and a stereo player. I drove it into the ground and I loved it because I could throw it into corners and it would just handle it. Now I’m all grown up and I have a Peugeot 3008, primarily because it’s a good looking car but it has everything I need without being uncomplicated. Plus the HDI engine has some grunt J

I would normally say Tae Kwon Do but the Olympics version is the wimpy no punching version so I will say Javelin.

Thor. Mostly because he has lightning. Which is terrifying to anyone. Or Gandalf.
